As part of the cultural program of Matera, European Capital of Culture 2019, the Atlas of the emotions of the cities, a project co-produced by the Matera – Basilicata 2019 Foundation and the Associazione Teatro dei Sassi, proposes a new way of visiting the cities through the use of an Emotional Map created by collecting the memories and stories of the inhabitants and, gradually, of the visitors themselves. The project identifies Matera as a city where to experience this modality for the first time.
On Friday, June 10, 2018, the theatrical and light craftsman builder Paolo Baroni arrived in the City of Sassi. Baroni has reviewed the first cartographic works that will be placed inside the “Camera secretissima de lo core”, an interactive site of memories and stories, which can be visited from March to July 2019 at the Provincial Library of Matera.

Biography of Paolo Baroni
He has worked for over forty years in the theater with experiences ranging from opera to puppets, from dance to drama, from fashion shows to performances, all experiences interspersed with equally varied workshops (minors at risk, boys with autism, older people) , childhood school children, young Europeans … from typical to atypical development). He has been technical director of the Festival of Santarcangelo, of the Societas Raffaello Sanzio of Cesena and of other Italian companies in the art world (La Fenice di Venezia, Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, Teatro alla Scala). It holds workshops and training courses on set design and lighting throughout Italy.
